Texas/Kansas Outlaws

This album came from Texas. It features a tintype at the beginning with the entire group and then CDV’s and tintypes of them individually. There is one photo of a woman who is from Fairbault Minnesota which is 13 miles from Northfield where the Younger/James gang attempted to rob the bank there. On September 23, 1876, the Younger brothers were taken to the Rice County jail in Faribault. I have spent considerable time working on this album to associate it with some of the Wild West Outlaws, and have come up with some identifications, but will keep them to myself until I can get the entire album identified. One of the men was from Sherman Texas, a town where it is known that Quantrill camped northeast of Sherman in Grayson County, and Jesse developed an affinity for the town, and later spent his honeymoon there, using money taken in a Missouri train robbery. Notice in a few of these, the men are wearing what is known as the Guerilla Shirt or Battle Shirt, worn during William Clarke Quantrill’s raids.
