E. of Los Angeles, John A. of Spokane; 4 sisters and 1 brother. Funeral Tues. Jan. 12, at 2:30 p. m. from the Alwin Chapel at Hazen & Jaeger’s. Interment Riverside Park.
MORGAN ACRES PIONEER DIES
Mrs. William Rule, 65, whose family was one of the first half dozen persons to settle on Morgan Acres northeast of Hillyard in 1906, died yesterday at her home, E2705 Nebraska, following an illness of six weeks. Her health had been impaired for the last 15 years.
She was born Bertha Jane Thompson in Soldier, Kan., came west to Basin, Mont., in 1899 following her marriage, and then to Spokane. She was a member of the Hillyard Congregational church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. at the Hazen & Jaeger funeral home, with burial at Riverside Park cemetery. She is survived by her husband, William, at the home; two sons, C. E. of Los Angeles, Cal., and John A. of Spokane; two daughters, Mrs. E. F. Curtis of Seattle and Mrs. C. M. Frasier of Cheney, and 10 grandchildren.

Rule of San Bernardino, Calif.; J. A. Rule of Spokane. 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Dessie Stark of California; Mrs. Lizzie Starr and Mrs. Mable Barnes, both of Soldier, Kan.; Mrs. Blanche Godfrey of El Reno, Okla. He was a retired employee of the Great Northern railway, a member of the Christian church and had lived in the city 42 years. Funeral Saturday, May 8 at 1:30 p. m., from the Gothic chapel of the Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, N1306 Monroe St., Rev. C. C. Curtis officiating. Interment Riverside Park.

Early Kansan Elizabeth Starr Is Dead at 94.
Holton.–Mrs. Elizabeth (Lizzie) STARR, 94, died Saturday in a hospital here.
She was born May 20, 1870 at Soldier, the daughter of James and Louisa Southworth Rule, and spent all her life at Soldier before moving to Holton nine years ago. She was member of Soldier Christian Church.
Her husband, Henry, died in 1944.
Survivors include four sons, Charles Starr, Holton; James Starr, Lawrence; Hugh Starr, Phillipsburg; Paul Starr, Dodge City; a daughter, Mrs. Mona COULSON, Colton, Ore., 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home at Holton with burial in Soldier Cemetery.
